We live in the Greater Kansas City Metro area. More specifically, we live in
Shawnee, Kansas. The metro area is commonly referred to as
The Heartland of America since it is located
pretty much in the center of the continental United States. It is
made up, predominantly, of five counties in two states: Johnson &
Wyandotte counties in Kansas and Jackson, Clay & Platte counties in
Missouri. Although, you could also consider parts of Leavenworth county, KS
and Cass county, MO as part of the metro area.
Kansas City Missouri is the largest city in the metro. There is a Kansas
City Kansas too which encompasses most of Wyandotte county. The remainder
of the metro area is comprised of more than 20 municipalities.
The northeast corner of Johnson County has been dubbed by the U.S. Post
Office as Shawnee Mission. This postal
district is not a city, but a collection of zip codes that includes cities
such as Mission, Westwood, Fairway, Merriam, Shawnee and a few others.

Because Michael is a graduate of the University of
Florida, we are also big Gators Fans.
One of the finer dinner theaters in the country is located right here (in
Overland Park). The New Theatre Restaurant has a history of putting on
excellent performances while serving good food at the same time.
Both of us graduating high school in the ’80s, we find the selection
of music played on E105
FM to be our preference.
