We both work for the same company in downtown Kansas City. At one point in time, our two separate groups worked on the same floor of the building where we still both have desks. One October day in 1996, Michael invited Teresa to lunch and we started dating shortly thereafter.

After dating for a while and knowing the relationship was headed for a more permanent status, we decided to share an apartment for at least a year before we would “tie the knott”. This decision came from our common background of having a prior marriage.

On the 2nd of May, 1998 wedding bells rang for Michael and Teresa McGarry. We married at Westwood Christian Church in Westwood, Kansas where Teresa had attended since she was five years old. The next day we took off for Jamaica for our Honeymoon.

Having two incomes and no children yet, we decided to build our dream house. We did not have any plans drawn up, but we did pick a model house and made a few modifications to meet our needs. In order to afford our dream house, we decided to stay a two income family and asked Mary Lou (Teresa's mother) to be our live-in nanny when we did have children.

Our house was completed and we closed the purchase on the 24th of June, 1999. Here is a slide show of our house being built.

On the day of our first anniversary, five months in to the construction of our house, the EPT test gave us a positive response.

7:14pm CST, December 19th, 1999   Amanda Georgia McGarry (Mandy) was born weighing 6 lbs. 11 oz. and 18" long.

In March of 2001, about four weeks after Valentine’s Day, Teresa began to show symptoms we’ve seen before. That night we purchased an EPT and it gave us a positive response on the first attempt.

12:28pm CST, October 19th, 2001   Christina Elena McGarry is born weighing 6 lbs. 7½ oz. and 18½" long.
